Dry Shampoo Battle: Not Your Mother's VS Batiste

I wanted to do a review on both these products and considering they are both dry shampoo's I decided to share with you my thoughts on both together and which I think works, smells better etc.
As you can see in the picture to the side there is an obvious winner to who gives you the most product (NYM) at a whopping 7 Fl oz. Much bigger than Batiste's. 5.05 Fl oz can. Although I have to conclude the winner of this battle is Batiste. Read below to see why.
Although NYM'S can gives you more product, I am more of a quality vs. quantity kinda gal, the first thing that turned me off about this product is the smell. It has a very chemically strong odor that I just could not stand. Second thing is YES it does work by drying your hair, HOWEVER it leaves behind a coat of crunchiness, the product doesn't brush out like it's supposed to, it kinda sticks behind. The good news is that it does work, and the cost is very affordable at around $6 per can.

Batiste is my obvious winner, I have it in "Blush" and it smells delightful very light and not overpowering at all, sort of a floral smell. The can is 5.05 Fl oz, and you can purchase it at Beauty.com for $7.99, or if you wanted to try it out they have a travel size. Another big plus is that it does brush out and doesn't leave behind any sort of residue, and it does the job makes my hair feel like I just showered that day. So this is my winner!

Spring Trend for 2011: Bright Orange Lips

I recently came across the picture to the left while browsing for deals at one of my favorite beauty stores. Beauty.com, I instantly fell in love with this look. The vibrant orangey-red lipstick is simply devine. A lot of designers have been using orange lips on their runway models. You would think you would need to pair a vibrant color lip with something subtle on your lids but if you see the picture on the side, the mustard eyeshadow, that gorgeous hue, really works well with the look in it's entirety. From the minute I saw this look I knew I had to duplicate it. I searched and searched for the perfect shade and think I have found 2 that come quite close. I went online to M.A.C, one of my FAVORITE cosmetic stores and looked at their orange lipsticks, I then googled them for swatches just to make sure they were what I needed, because with M.A.C you can't just go with what they describe the color is ALWAYS find a swatch online. Then I needed a mustard yellow eye. I have to admit the color I picked up isn't QUITE what I needed but it's a close match. The color dupe I chose for the lip would be M.A.C's "Morange"($12.50). It isn't as bright as M.A.C'S "Neon Orange", It is darker, and richer. PERFECT! For the eye I found a little store called Sugar Pill Cosmetics, they had a bold yellow eyeshadow called "Butter Cupcake" ($12.00), it's very pigmented I would compare Sugar Pill's eyeshadows with M.A.C. The swatches below were done with no flash so they're pretty close to what they look like in real life. My final thoughts are that the "Morange" would be an excellent dupe if you wanted to recreate this look, the eyeshadow is still a little too bright, I am still searching for that perfect mustard color.

SPRING TREND ALERT: Fancy Sequined Headbands

I have been recently obsessing over sequined hair accessories I think they make an outfit really pop, like if you were to wear a boring grey top you could add one of these and instantly be transformed, I think this is a trend that will stay around for awhile. My fav stores to buy these gems are: JovanJane, Academy J, Sunshine and Carousels, and Jills Boutique. I have some reviews on these stores coming up so stay tuned!

My Lushies have arrived!

So excited, yesterday my Lush goodies arrived, I got a bunch of good stuff and everything all together was about $32.00, Lush was having a fantastic sale of buy one get 2 free so I bought 4 items and got 8 free! PLUS! 2 really good samples, however, I heard that you can request up to 10 samples! But I didn't find this out til after I ordered, oh well great to know for next time :). So I got,
3 Cinders: They smell like Pez candy and cinnamon to me, and they made my room smell like them too which I am okay with because I love the smell of candy<3 These ones feel very hard, and they remind me of a scrub on it's description it says Bath Salt Tablet.

3 Gold Stars: Which I haven't decided what they smell like, I do smell some kind of fruity smell as well but that could be rubbing off from the Cinders, they are still adorable! and these ones are bubble bars so they're mushy feeling, and have gold glitter all over them.

2 Frothy the Snow Man: These ones have licorice eyes and they have coconut shavings on them, these ones have a more floral scent to me and they're mushy feeling like the Gold Stars. I can't wait to use them :)

1 Li'l Lush Pud: This one has a spicy smell and it also smells like floral, but yea it has a spicy smell as well, this one is a bath bomb like the Cinders one.

1 Green Green Bath of Foam: This one is shaped like a chocolate Kiss, and it's bright green, it's a bubble bar and it will turn your water bright green so I am super excited about that, haven't decided what it smells like yet, I think I am going to break this up though along with all the rest because these are so concentrated you dont need the whole thing to have a great bubble bath.

2 Green Party: A bath bomb, and it has confetti in it so when it's done exploding your tub will look like you had a party in it, so that's cute all by itself, smells fruity which is my favorite scent so another must have for me.

Then I got 2 generous samples, the first one is a sample of there Fresh Farmacy, and it's a soap but I am using it as a mask, the smell isn't that great but it has chamomile and it helps to reduce redness and it's also great if your prone to acne, which I am sadly. So I am glad I got to try this one one is another soap called Noubar, it's soft and mushy and feels like a good moisturizer it smells like roses, which is a great scent, and it has pistachios in it to help exfoliate your skin, I can't wait to try this one out.

All in all a very good addition to my collection and a great sale!

Urban Decay's "Lip Envy" Review

I recently went to Sephora in search for a good lip stain, ofcourse being the cheapy I am I wasn't prepared to spend $22 on one. A Sephora consultant offered to show me my different options and ofcourse this one I found called Urban Decay's Lip Envy was the cheapest at $17.00. Plus the color wasn't just your normal dark plumish stain. It was more of a fuschia red and on your lips it looks pretty pinkish. A very nice color I have to say, and the smell of it was a nice strawberry scent, it tased pretty good too. So, I definitely needed it. Since then I use it everyday because for some reason I ALWAYS get faded white lips if I don't use it and I hate it! I definitely recommen this lip stain because it's cheaper than the rest and wonderful all around!

Loving Lush

So, I am a big fan of Lush, recently I purchased a bunch of goodies when they were doing their sale on the holiday items, I got 12 items including bath bombs and bath melts for only 32 bucks! So I was very excited, anywho Valentine's day is coming up and I adore this gift set they have. It's called the "Be Mine" it includes a jasmine scented shower gel called "Flying Fox", a wonderful smelling "Honey Trap" lip balm, and "Soft Coeur" a very luxurious melty cocoa and honey massage bar. Plus! The packaging is super cute dont ya' think? So excited about this one.

O.P.I has followed Alice down the rabbit hole.

So I think to keep on going with this amazing theme I wanted to share with you this wonderful set of O.P.I nail polishes, they are also inspired by the new Tim Burton movie " Alice in Wonderland" starring, Johnny Depp. I am sure it will be amazing. Anyways, these nail polishes are simply gorgeous and with names like "OFF WITH HER RED" a very bright red, "Absolutely Alice" a extremely bright and sparkly blue, "Thanks So Muchness" a deeper red, and "Mad As A Hatter" a very sparkly silvery purple, who could resist? I couldn't I already bought them off Amazon.com :). I am quite sure they'll sell out fast, so hurry to your nearest beauty store or shop online!  Steph's Closet gives you a sample of what the colors look like.
