Dry Shampoo Battle: Not Your Mother's VS Batiste

I wanted to do a review on both these products and considering they are both dry shampoo's I decided to share with you my thoughts on both together and which I think works, smells better etc.
As you can see in the picture to the side there is an obvious winner to who gives you the most product (NYM) at a whopping 7 Fl oz. Much bigger than Batiste's. 5.05 Fl oz can. Although I have to conclude the winner of this battle is Batiste. Read below to see why.
Although NYM'S can gives you more product, I am more of a quality vs. quantity kinda gal, the first thing that turned me off about this product is the smell. It has a very chemically strong odor that I just could not stand. Second thing is YES it does work by drying your hair, HOWEVER it leaves behind a coat of crunchiness, the product doesn't brush out like it's supposed to, it kinda sticks behind. The good news is that it does work, and the cost is very affordable at around $6 per can.

Batiste is my obvious winner, I have it in "Blush" and it smells delightful very light and not overpowering at all, sort of a floral smell. The can is 5.05 Fl oz, and you can purchase it at Beauty.com for $7.99, or if you wanted to try it out they have a travel size. Another big plus is that it does brush out and doesn't leave behind any sort of residue, and it does the job makes my hair feel like I just showered that day. So this is my winner!

Spring Trend for 2011: Bright Orange Lips

I recently came across the picture to the left while browsing for deals at one of my favorite beauty stores. Beauty.com, I instantly fell in love with this look. The vibrant orangey-red lipstick is simply devine. A lot of designers have been using orange lips on their runway models. You would think you would need to pair a vibrant color lip with something subtle on your lids but if you see the picture on the side, the mustard eyeshadow, that gorgeous hue, really works well with the look in it's entirety. From the minute I saw this look I knew I had to duplicate it. I searched and searched for the perfect shade and think I have found 2 that come quite close. I went online to M.A.C, one of my FAVORITE cosmetic stores and looked at their orange lipsticks, I then googled them for swatches just to make sure they were what I needed, because with M.A.C you can't just go with what they describe the color is ALWAYS find a swatch online. Then I needed a mustard yellow eye. I have to admit the color I picked up isn't QUITE what I needed but it's a close match. The color dupe I chose for the lip would be M.A.C's "Morange"($12.50). It isn't as bright as M.A.C'S "Neon Orange", It is darker, and richer. PERFECT! For the eye I found a little store called Sugar Pill Cosmetics, they had a bold yellow eyeshadow called "Butter Cupcake" ($12.00), it's very pigmented I would compare Sugar Pill's eyeshadows with M.A.C. The swatches below were done with no flash so they're pretty close to what they look like in real life. My final thoughts are that the "Morange" would be an excellent dupe if you wanted to recreate this look, the eyeshadow is still a little too bright, I am still searching for that perfect mustard color.

SPRING TREND ALERT: Fancy Sequined Headbands

I have been recently obsessing over sequined hair accessories I think they make an outfit really pop, like if you were to wear a boring grey top you could add one of these and instantly be transformed, I think this is a trend that will stay around for awhile. My fav stores to buy these gems are: JovanJane, Academy J, Sunshine and Carousels, and Jills Boutique. I have some reviews on these stores coming up so stay tuned!
